In line with this mission, UMG operates websites, applications, stores, and other services (collectively referred to as "Apps" in this Privacy Policy) to connect artists with fans in innovative ways.

This Privacy Policy outlines UMG's data practices, including the collection, use, and sharing of data through Apps linked to this policy, and the choices and rights you have to control these data practices.

WHO WE ARE

Apps linked to this Privacy Policy are operated by Universal Music Investments, Inc., located at 2220 Colorado Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90404. "UMG," "we," and "our" refer to this entity, which acts as a data controller responsible for processing personal data through the Apps under applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Other entities within the Universal Music Group, such as UMG Commercial Services, Inc., UMG Recordings, Inc., and UMG Recording Services, Inc., also located at 2220 Colorado Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90404, may receive or process data related to the Apps. Each entity separately discloses its data practices in this Privacy Policy.

Apps may be operated on behalf of artists and/or partners who may also process personal data through the Apps. Relevant third parties will be disclosed on the Apps and/or at the point of data collection.

HOW YOUR INFORMATION MAY BE USED

We may use the information we collect to:

STORAGE AND RETENTION OF INFORMATION

We retain collected information as required by applicable laws and as necessary for processing purposes, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, securing Apps, and complying with legal obligations. When personal data is no longer needed, we will delete or deidentify it. We implement technical and organizational measures to safeguard the information we collect.

Despite our efforts, internet transmission is not completely secure. We strive to protect the information we collect but cannot guarantee its security.

CHILDREN

Our Apps are not directed at children (as defined by local law), and we do not knowingly collect information from children without parental consent, except as permitted by law.

YOUR RIGHTS

You may have rights regarding your personal data, including access, rectification, erasure, and/or portability. To exercise these rights, contact us as described in the “Contact” section. We may verify your identity before fulfilling your request, using methods such as confirming access to your email, providing ID, or other account details.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe our processing of your personal data infringes applicable law. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS FROM THE EU, UK, OR SWITZERLAND

UMG’s US-based entities participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, and the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, adhering to principles for transferring personal information from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK to the US. UMG entities are subject to the US Federal Trade Commission’s investigatory and enforcement powers. UMG may disclose personal information to public authorities as required by law.

We require third parties to comply with DPF principles when accessing, using, or disclosing personal information. UMG remains liable if third parties process personal information inconsistently with DPF principles unless we prove we are not responsible for the event causing the damage.

Individuals under DPF have the right to access their personal information and limit its use and disclosure. More details are available on our “Your Privacy Rights” page.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

For questions or complaints about UMG’s handling of your personal information, contact us using our Privacy Request Form or email privacy.officer@umusic.com. If unsatisfied with our response, you may contact our US-based independent dispute resolution body, JAMS. Under certain conditions, individuals may invoke binding arbitration.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

DIGITAL ADVERTISING

We use third-party partners to enable targeted advertising on social media platforms, websites, and mobile apps. These companies collect information through our Apps to target and serve ads, some of which may be personalized. To learn more about targeted advertising and opt-out options, visit the DAA WebChoices tool at www.aboutads.info. For mobile app advertising, download the DAA’s AppChoices program app from https://youradchoices.com/appchoices. Opting out does not stop advertising but may make ads less relevant.
